Burke Butler - NZ Marine ManagerBurke Butler has worked in the Fire & General Insurance industry for 36 years, the last five in
Marine Insurance. He joined Vero Marine in 2001 as Sales Manager, which entailed responsibility
for eight underwriter's plus
In May 2006 he was appointed to NZ Marine Manager and is dedicated to ensuring that Vero Marine maintains its leading Industry position. Over the years, Burke has made many presentations at Insurance Industry forums, with a view to furthering the intermediary knowledge. Prior to joining Vero Marine, Burke worked for Vero, in the corporate property market for fifteen years. He has a wide range of experience, in both underwriting & marketing, in all insurance lines, obtained over his working life. Jayne Ward - Operations ManagerJayne Ward has spent 16 years in the insurance industry, with 11 years in marine insurance. She originally worked as a Marine Underwriter in the UK and joined Vero Marine in 2003 as an Operations Executive, then moved to become the Support Services Manager with responsibility for the Sales Support and administrative areas. She was appointed to the role of Operations Manager in May 2006 and her overall responsibility includes management of the Claims Team, Vero Marine's computer system and the Sales Support and Operations area. Besides a background in marine underwriting, Jayne also headed up a project management team in Royal & Sun Alliance, Manchester. This involved the development of a global marine intranet facility and working alongside the management team developing future strategies and business plans. ACII qualified, and experienced in project planning and process management, Jayne is a valued member of Vero Marine's management team. John McKelvie - Underwriting & Risk ManagerJohn McKelvie has spent 27 years in the marine insurance industry, and joined Vero Marine in 1991. He was appointed Underwriting & Risk Manager in 2005 and has overall responsibility of Underwriting and Claims control. His expertise lies in handling large marine insurance claims, and insurance issues arising from marine exports. John is a member of various associations, including the UK Chartered Insurance Institute, MLAANZ (with a special interest in the Development of Transport) to which he has made presentations at several of their conferences, the British Institute of Exports, plus is a committee member of the marine section of the Insurance Council of New Zealand. He has given extensive training to large New Zealand exporters on marine insurance. |
