The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise conducted an online survey last August aimed at counting the value to business of our trade with Hong Kong, India, Korea, current TPP members (Chile, Singapore and Brunei) and potential TPP members.
The information gathered will contribute to FTA negotiation teams’ understanding of the types of business activity involved and widen the scope of companies officials consult on FTAs.
The results are here and show that, amongst other things, more than 70% of the survey’s respondents enjoyed a modest to substantial increase in business efficiency from the removal of barriers to trade and investment in their export markets as a result of signing FTAs.
